PROGRAMME FACILITATOR
Prof Renato Pereria
Associate Dean for Internationalization and Research, and Professor of General Management: ISCTE Business School (Lisbon, Portugal); Coordinator of the Emerging Markets Research Center at ISCIM (Maputo, Mozambique)
Renato Periera holds PhD degrees in Management Sciences (Université Paris Dauphine, France) and in African Studies (ISCTE-IUL, Portugal), as well as habilitation titles in Management (in Portugal and in France). He is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CABS, UK) and has published scientific contributions extensively, particularly in indexed journals.
He has been teaching entrepreneurship, innovation, and international business for over 20 years in more than 20 countries around the world. During this time, he has also worked with, empowered, and mentored entrepreneurs in various regions.
Early in his career, Renato worked with European start-up companies, helping them scale up by developing ambitious business plans supported by strong venture capital funds.
More recently, he launched an impactful initiative aimed at empowering young people in Sub-Saharan Africa through entrepreneurial skills. This strategic project began in the Lunda Norte province of northeastern Angola and will, in its next phase, engage groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Head: Small Business Academy Development Programme
Dr Armand Bam is a dedicated development sector expert with over twenty years of experience in fostering sustainable and impactful community change. As Head of the Stellenbosch Business School’s Social Impact programme and a Senior Lecturer in Business in Society, he excels in guiding organisations, whether private or public, towards meaningful action that amplifies marginalised voices and promotes genuine inclusion. His leadership roles, including his tenure as Executive Director of The League of the Friends of the Blind, reflect his commitment to strategic collaboration, resource management, and fostering partnerships for sustainable development. Passionate about aligning values with tangible outcomes through strategic CSR, philanthropic initiatives, and innovative approaches, Dr Bam continues to inspire positive change and meaningful social impact.
