Taking 50 years of foresight forward!

2024 is a year of celebrations at the Stellenbosch Business School and in celebrating the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) 50-year anniversary a podcast series, 50Things, was launched. Each episode dives deep into the milestones, innovations and people that have shaped IFR’S journey and the world around us.

During Women’s month the IFR Director, Doris Viljoen, had a conversation with Dr Ivana Milojević, who has recently compiled a monograph titled “The Hesitant Feminist’s Guide to the Future” (to listen to their conversation click here).

The conversation was then taken further during an intimate in person event, which focused on females in foresight. Futures studies alumni Tatjana van Borman, Dr Nashareen Morris and Doris Viljoen had the opportunity to share more about their experiences and challenges in practicing foresight in South Africa. The event was presented in partnership with Stellenbosch Business School’s Social Impact division and Dr Armand Bam facilitated the discussion.
