Alumni Association Chapters drive growth and engaging events across Africa in 2025
This year, the Stellenbosch Business School Alumni Association celebrated remarkable growth, strengthening its presence across Africa and fostering vibrant connections among alumni. A key milestone was the launch of the 17th Alumni Chapter in Mauritius, marking an exciting expansion of the Association’s footprint.
The Mauritius Chapter was inaugurated with a Thought Leadership panel discussion in partnership with Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB), exploring “African Frontiers in the Era of Trump-onomics.” Led by Prof André Roux, Programme Head of Futures Studies, and featuring Vicky Hurynag (MCB Head: Strategy, Research & Development), Harry Coolen (Senior Executive, MCB Group) and Hemandra Kumar (Sanjeev) Hazareesing (COO, MCB Group), the event brought together alumni and industry leaders for a stimulating exchange of ideas, laying the foundation for collaboration and lifelong learning.
Keep an eye on our social media channels, LinkedIn (@Stellenbosch Business School Alumni Association) and Instagram (@subusschoolaumni), where we will introduce the Mauritius Chapter Committee members to our alumni community over the next few weeks.
Throughout 2025, SBS Alumni Chapters hosted a series of Thought Leadership panel discussions across the continent, in cities such as Windhoek, Gaborone, Umhlanga, Bellville and Midrand, exploring topics ranging from economic growth and technological innovation to workplace wellness and business strategy. These events fostered vibrant conversations and created opportunities for alumni to connect, share knowledge and collaborate.
A heartfelt thank you to all alumni, speakers, moderators and partners who contributed to these events. Through your engagement, the SBS Alumni Association continues to build a vibrant, connected community that spans Africa and beyond.
