25th Global Conference on Environmental Taxation
Towards a just energy transition – perspectives from the North and South
The landmark 25th annual Global Conference on Environmental Taxation (GCET25) will take place in Stellenbosch, South Africa – a first time on African soil. This year’s topic is Towards a just energy transition – perspectives from the North and South.
GCET is the leading global forum for interdisciplinary exchanges on the principles and practices of environmental taxation and other market-based instruments for addressing climate change, protecting the environment and promoting a just energy transition. With senior representatives at GCET25 from major corporations such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank, we will certainly be among the most informed minds on this topic in the world.
GCET25 will be hosted at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (STIAS), situated on Stellenbosch University’s campus. With a welcome reception on the evening before the conference starts, as well as a superb Gala Dinner at Gold Restaurant in Cape Town on Day 2, this conference also provides great opportunities to network, make new friends and enjoy the best that the Western Cape and Stellenbosch have to offer.
