In November 2012, Stellenbosch Business School became the first business school of African origin to achieve international AACSB accreditation for its programmes. AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees. Less than five percent of the world's business programmes are AACSB accredited.

Equis Accredited
Stellenbosch Business School was the first business school in Africa to receive EQUIS accreditation, awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). EQUIS assesses the programmes, students, faculty, internationalisation, research and development, resources, executive education provision, connections with practice, and ethics, responsibility, and sustainability of business schools, and is, therefore, a whole-school assessment.
